New this month is a brand new pattern, my poppy brooch. This is perfect obviously for Remembrance Sunday but works equally well as a flower corsage or brooch on your winter coat or to brighten up your woollies. You could also use it as a decoration on a cushion or pillow.

It does include some crocheting in the round and short row crochet - this is when you partially crochet rows which creates shaping within your work. It's much easier than it sounds and gives the petals their curvy shape. The pattern comes with full photo tutorials for all stages of the make, including crocheting short rows.

This is a great stash buster as it only uses a small amount of yarn. I've uses Rico Creative Ricorumi DK cotton as this comes in small 25g balls - the perfect amount for something small and economical to buy. I used 028 Red, 047 pistachio and 060 black. This yarn comes in so many different lovely colours, it's such a great choice.

You can buy this yarn from many places including Lovecrafts where you can also buy my pattern.

All my patterns including this one are also available from Etsy and Ravelry stores and come with both UK and US instructions.
